Jesus — The Real Thing is a powerful global gospel teaching song that journeys from Isaiah’s striking picture of a man cutting down a tree—burning part of the wood for warmth and food while fashioning the remainder into a god—to Elijah’s confrontation with the prophets of Baal, Paul’s encounter with the altar to the Unknown God, and finally John’s proclamation of Jesus as the True Light. Blending cinematic worship, gospel soul, and musical textures inspired by the nations, the song asks simple but penetrating questions: Can what our hands have made be the God who made us? Can what we carry carry us? Can what we call upon answer? The answer is not merely an argument—it is a Person. Jesus Christ, the Living Word, the Bread of Life, the True Light, the Resurrection and the Life. A song of truth spoken in love, Jesus — The Real Thing points beyond man-made substitutes to the living God who does not need us to sustain Him, but instead gives us life, breath, and everything—and who came looking for us.
